Ashley Hall-Tighe is an internationally renowned trumpeter, educator, and certified life coach. With her exuberant, relatable approach and passion for authentic connections, she engages audiences as a soloist, ensemble musician, workshop facilitator, and coach - leading courses, private sessions, and professional development programs. Her global solo career includes performances at the Sydney Opera House and Beijing’s National Center for the Performing Arts. Praised for her “energetic joy” (Rochester Post Bulletin) and “warm tone, stunning technique, and expressive artistry” (Cincinnati Enquirer), 2024 highlights feature solo appearances with the Roanoke and Rock Hill Symphonies, plus recitals in Hong Kong, Australia, and the US. From August 2023 to May 2024, she toured worldwide with Canadian Brass, sharing the group’s iconic light-hearted style. In 2019, she became the first trumpeter to perform on Cincinnati’s prestigious Matinee Musicale series, earning acclaim from critic Janelle Gelfand for her joyful, expressive playing. Her debut solo album, Upcycle, with pianist Ana Maria Otamendi, released in fall 2024. Featuring trumpet-and-piano transcriptions by her husband Nathaniel Tighe, it celebrates European classical traditions while imagining the modern trumpet as a period solo instrument. As an educator, Ashley blends whole-person development with technical mastery - covering respiratory mechanics, strategic practice, upper register work, and personal growth stories - making her a sought-after clinician. She has taught at the University of Dayton, St. Olaf College, UNC School of the Arts, and Longy School of Music. Ashley founded Longy’s Career Coaching Program (2019–2022) and hosted The Multifaceted Career series, interviewing over 60 artist-leaders on holistic success. An Associate Certified Coach (ICF), trained by Co-Active and Graydin, she provides private coaching to align artists’ values with their creative lives, leads Start with Heart workshops, and supports institutional cultural transformation. She co-owns Maple Rise Music with Nathaniel Tighe, is a Yamaha Performing Artist, and endorses GR mouthpieces.
