About
Colorado Brass is the state’s premier British-style brass band, bringing together 30 highly skilled brass players and percussionists from across Colorado. The ensemble represents a diverse membership of professional performers, music educators, university students, and dedicated brass band enthusiasts, all united by a shared commitment to musical excellence and artistic collaboration. The band presents an annual subscription concert series that highlights the depth and versatility of the British brass band tradition while also embracing innovation and contemporary musical voices. In addition to its regular concert season, Colorado Brass performs at major national competitions and festivals, including the Rocky Mountain Brassworks Festival, the US Masters Brass Band Championships, and the North American Brass Band Association Championships. Colorado Brass is committed to building the future of the brass band community through the launch of a new youth program designed to inspire and support the next generation of brass musicians. This initiative provides young players with high-quality ensemble experiences, mentorship from professional musicians, and exposure to the brass band tradition. The band’s repertoire spans classic British brass band standards, contemporary works, jazz and Latin styles, and world premieres by emerging and established composers. Through performance, education, and community engagement, Colorado Brass seeks to elevate the brass band art form and enrich Colorado’s cultural landscape.
