How the rules are revised

The rulebooks are meant to be stable from year to year, with adjustments where a season showed the need. Each is owned by a committee that reviews it on a fixed cycle, so an edition can be relied on for the whole contest season it governs.

• NABBA Championships Official Rules — Rules sub-committee of the Contest committee; reviewed over the summer, presented at the August board meeting, and released in early September.
• Solo & Ensemble Rules — Solo & Ensemble coordinator; reviewed in July and announced with the contest dates in the first week of September.
• Band Scoring Rubric — Adjudication committee; revised only when the adjudication committee changes it.

While a revision is pending, the previous edition remains in force and is the one linked above. When the new edition is released it replaces the link here and on the contest pages the same day.
