Call for Papers

The Brass Band Bridge is excited to announce a call for papers for our online publication. We invite scholars, practitioners, and enthusiasts from the brass band community to submit articles that contribute to the understanding, practice, and appreciation of brass bands, brass performance, and/or brass pedagogy.

Scope of Submissions: We welcome a diverse range of articles including but not limited to:
Historical Studies: Research on the origins, evolution, and impact of brass bands in different regions and periods.
Performance Practice: Analysis of techniques, repertoire, and performance styles unique to brass performance.
Educational Approaches: Innovative methods for teaching and learning within brass band settings.
Community Engagement: Case studies and reflections on brass bands’ role in local and global communities.
Composition and Arranging: Insights into composing and arranging for brass bands, including discussions of notable works and emerging trends.
Interdisciplinary Perspectives: Exploration of how brass bands intersect with other musical genres, art forms, and cultural practices.

Submission Guidelines:
Manuscripts should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
Articles will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure high academic standards and relevance.
